Ryan English spoke with Steve Watkins of the Cincinnati Business Courier about Kroger’s outlook after the supermarket giant beat analysts’ estimates with its same-store sales growth. Here is an excerpt from the story published on December 9:
Ryan English, an investment manager at Foster & Motley, an investment advisory firm based in the Kenwood area of Sycamore Township, also liked the same-store sales growth and pointed out Kroger reiterated its guidance for the rest of this year and next year.
Its digital business still has some question marks, he said. He noted Kroger’s digital sales rose 21%, a deceleration from 31% and 42% in the two prior quarters.
“It is great to see this very positive growth on an absolute basis, but it has relatively trailed some of their competitors,” English said.
