Larry Bernhard’s career, and life, reflect his commitment to acting with integrity and intelligence in all that he does. He serves as Foster & Motley’s Chief Compliance Officer and Office Manager, and carries with him a breadth of experience working at a variety of financial institutions and within many areas of operations.
Larry graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He started his career working as a co-op (intern) with an investment advisor and broker dealer in Cincinnati and began full-time employment with them following graduation. From 1985 through 2004 he managed various departments within operations and earned his Series 7 financial certification. He eventually became the firm’s compliance officer, developing and implementing the firm’s compliance program. He served in that capacity through 2008. Larry then worked as a compliance officer on a contract basis for two other firms: Western & Southern Financial Group and General Electric Credit Union.
Larry joined Foster & Motley in 2010 to oversee and maintain the firm’s compliance program and assist in managing the day-to-to functions of the firm. He obtained the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP®) designation in 2014.
A native of Cincinnati and a resident of Evendale, Larry and his wife Sue have three grown children and two grandchildren. In his downtime Larry enjoys spending time with family and friends and cheering on the Cincinnati Bearcats. He values balance in his life and knows that as he looks for meaningful ways to engage with his community, he will continue to build on the integrity and balance that have gotten him to this point.
